Okay, now this is book 2 of 3 in the Bridge High Series.
Preface
As I stood there, remembering all the good times we shared and even the bad ones. Thinking about how I would never hear the voice of the one that I loved with my life. I wanted to cry so badly, but I just couldn’t bring myself to that point. If I cried, then I’d show that I was weak, and I’m not about to let anyone think I’m weak! All I could do was think of some way to make the people that put you here pay, and I mean pay. People who I trusted with my life, ended up being the first to try and take it.
All I could think about is that when your dead, all the drugs and money don’t mean anything. While walking over to the coffin, seeing this person’s body lying there so lifeless made a tear drop from my eye.
“Dang, what can I say? I guess I never expected it to end like this, not for us. We were like Bonnie and Clyde of the hood. I guess it’s to late to say I’m sorry huh? I’ll never love anyone like I loved you, no one will ever take your place, and you’ll always be in my heart. I wish I had been the one to get that bullet instead of you. I swear on my life I’m gonna get the fool that did this to you. Rest in peace, I love you. See you on the other side.”
As I walked away from the gravesite, the last one to leave, right before I opened the car door, all I could think about was who was gonna take me out, or at lease try to. As it’s said, “done did too much wrong to go back, and haven’t did enough right to move forward.” So, ain’t much left for me huh?
Chapter One
“Tiffany, are you home yet?” Elizabeth Ann shouted while entering the house.
“Yea, I’m in my room.” Tiffany shouted downstairs to her mother.
“Well come down here and give me a hand with these groceries.”
“Mya, I gotta call you back later, I have to help my mom out. Then,
I can tell you all the juicy details about Jay, bye.” Tiffany then went downstairs to the kitchen to help her mother.
“You home early, I didn’t think you’d be home till about 7 or 8 o’clock.”
“Well I got off early, traffic wasn’t that bad. Why does it matter though? What, you were hoping I’d be home late so you could sneak some little boy in here?”
Tiffany laughed, “Naw, I was just wondering.”
“Yea, okay. Where’s your brother at?”
“He’s at basketball practice, he should be home soon, and it ended at 5:30. He probably hanging out with that lil’ trick Ashley.”
“Tiffany, what did I tell you about calling people out their name? I raised you better then that. Who’s Ashley?”
“She’s this lil trick, oops, I mean girl, Aaron been kickin it wit.”
“What do you mean “kickin” it with?”
“Lol I mean, well I’ll just let him tell you, there he is, and that’s her.”
As Elizabeth and her daughter looked out the window, “Where’s the rest of the girls outfit?”
“I told you ma...”
As Ashley drove off, and Aaron opened the door, before he could get a word out of his mouth his mother beat him to the punch.
“Aaron, what did I tell you about hanging out with girls like that?”
“Uh, Hi? And what’s the matter with her?”
“What’s the matter? Boy, that shouldn’t even be a question to come out of your mouth! Did you see how that girl was dressed?”
“Oh yea, I saw.”
“Aaron, this is going to be the last time I tell you, stay away from girls like that! I am not about to be having any grandbabies anytime soon.”
“Whoa, how’d we get there, my ankle was hurting from practice, and she offered to give me a ride home. What did you want me to do? Be rude and say no?”
“Lil boy, don’t play word games. Look, you’re a talented, handsome young man, with a lot of potential, I just don’t want you to get tripped up like a lot of these guys out here. Whenever you’re in trouble, a girl is always involved.”
“Ma, I ain’t, dang, you ain’t gotta be all over dramatic. Like I said, she was just giving me a ride home.”
“Alright then, but remember what I said, you understand me?”
“Yea”
“Yea? Excuse me?”
“Sorry, Yes ma’am.”
“That’s more like it, now, what do ya’ll want for dinner?”
“Ma, why you feeling his head with lies?”
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about saying that he handsome, trying to get the boy head bigga then what it already is.”
“Aw, you here, dang? Yo, don’t hate cause the looks only run between me and ma.” Grinning while saying that to his younger sister.
“Whatever, anyways...” Tiffany said with sarcasm in her voice.
Right before she could speak the phone rang.
“I got it.”
“No, I got it.” Tiffany said while racing her brother to the phone.
“Hello?”
“Hi, can I speak to Aaron?”
“Who’s calling?”
“Jason”
“Hold on”
“AARON!” She yelled
“THE PHONE!”
“Dang! I’m in the next room!”
“I know and it’s Jason.”
“Oh, cool.” He said while his sister handed him the phone.”
“What up?”
“Nothin chillin. Hold up, that sounded like that fine cheerleader Tiffany.”
“Her name’s Tiffany, she a cheerleader, but you lost me on the fine part.”
“Lol man stop trippin’. I ain’t know that was yo sister.”
“Yea she is, and the reason for pointing that out..?”
“I’m sensing some attitude, ok enough talking about your sista.”
After getting off the phone an hour later with Jason, Aaron reflected back to beginning of their conversation. He knew that his sister was very beautiful; she was 5’5, gorgeous golden brown skinned complexion, a “coke bottle figure”, appealing light brown eye’s, long black hair, with brown highlights, and knew how to dress. She had the tomboy, girly girl appeal. She played sports and loved boys, that’s why he felt he had to watch out for his sister. He wasn’t to bad looking himself; 6’3, basketball player, gorgeous golden brown skinned complexion, six pack, and honey brown eyes. Girls loved him. He also knew how guys were about his sister, and even though he did things he shouldn’t have been doing, he wasn’t going to allow his sister to do the same. He felt obligated to as well, since their father died when they were younger. You could say he’s the man of the house, so anything involving his baby sister with a boy, was not going to happen. End of discussion!
